Rules:
Overview
all submissions are legal for adult competitors. no slams. reaping the knee in the gi is legal. no heel hooks in the gi.
All competitors receive one coach pass. All competitors are required either to sell three general admission tickets or pay the $100 registration fee
How you can win
SUBMISSION:
A competitor submits by tapping the mat or body of other competitor. Any noises from competitors during a match will be considered a verbal tap.
JUDGES DECISION:
If a match should end without one competitor submitting the other, the referee(s) will decide the winner according to the most dominate competitor.
REFEREE STOPPAGE:
If the Referee feels a competitor’s life is in danger or if a competitor is unable to defend themselves, the Referee will stop the match AND declare the winner.
OPPONENT DISQUALIFICATION:
Competitors will be disqualified by the Referee for breaking rules.
MEDICAL DISQUALIFICATION:
If a competitor is unable to continue a match due to injury h will be disqualified. Should a competitor begin bleeding, the competitor will be allowed TWO chances to stop the bleeding. After TWO consecutive bleeds a competitor will be disqualified.
ID (passport, driver’s license etc.).
Receipt of payment for tournament.
Equipment must be clean and in good shape.

Time Limits
Time limit is based on division.
Kids: 4 minutes
White: 5 minutes
Blue/Purple: 6 minutes
Brown/Black: 10 minutes
Competitors will be notified two matches prior to their own. Competitors are expected to be completely checked in by this time. If competitors are not completely checked in by this time, they will forfeit their match by DQ.

Penalties
IF A COMPETITOR RECIEVES THREE PENALTIES, THE COMPETITOR WILL BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THEIR MATCH.
Unsportsmanlike behavior from a competitor or his coach will not be tolerated. Any competitors or coaches who behave inappropriately will be banned from all future events.
If a penalty is given, the referee will halt the action to inform the competitors and their coaches that a penalty has been given.
Penalties can be given for not obeying the referees’ commands during the fight.
When a competitor disengages from contact (starts backing up and avoids engaging again) he will be punished by penalty.
A passive competitor will be warned twice and then will be punished by penalty.
If a competitor disengages from the fight by constantly fleeing the mat, he will be given a penalty.
If two competitors (team-mates) engage in a fixed match, both will be DISQUALIFIED from the event.
If a competitor tries to escape a submission by fleeing the mat more than once, he will be DISQUALIFIED.
If a competitor intentionally hits or kicks his opponent, he will be DISQUALIFIED.
If a competitor initiates any of the ILLEGAL ACTIONS, he will be DISQUALIFIED.
